Great food and wonderful service. Came in and got a seat on a Saturday night without a reservation. Waitress was super busy but she handled herself well and took great care of us. Perfect pre mother's day dinner with my family. Nice atmosphere feels like laid back fine dinning.

Definitely give a 5/5. Sirloin cooked to perfection tonight, excellent service from the moment we walked in til we left. We have 4 kids 10 to 14 and they all loved it too. Definitely a bar, bar atmosphere, not the cleanest establishment, but u can't blame the staff, because everything under their control was excellent. Will return.

For Keokuk, IA. the Hawkeye Restaurant is one of the best restaurants in the city. Meal was good, but I've never had luck finding a side that is worth reordering.

Not sure how people rate this restaurant above 2 stars. The food was not anything remotely good. And it’s not like they had a bad night, you can just tell it’s normally not good. If the price was low, I would just say you get what you pay for. But their prices are above “average”. The vast majority of the people there were elderly. And we all know older folks have bad taste in restaurants. Anybody else 40 years and younger, you’ve been warned. We waited 1 hour and 10 minutes for our food. A full 70 minutes. From ordering to getting the food. And it was cold. 2 stars simply because our server was top notch. If I owned a restaurant, I’d be offering her a job.

Took almost 10 min before someone came out to seat us. Then had to wait again over 15 min to even get order taken waitress socializing with other tables instead of doing her job. Usually always good service& food,tonight was huge disappointment.

My family and I had been traveling from out of state and showed up at Hawkeye Restaurant literally about 2 minutes before they were due to close. In most places the people would be rude and tell you to leave, but the hostess was super friendly and our waitress, Sarah, was very friendly and went above and beyond to give us good service. When the food arrived, even though it was so late, the quality was excellent! I've traveled all over the country and I have to say that I would recommend Hawkeye Restaurant to anybody for its excellent quality and service.

Good restaurant with homemade root beer but they don't have any vegetarian entrees. If you're a vegetarian I wouldn't recommend this place but most meat eaters seem to enjoy the food here.

So I give 5 stars to the young lady named Tressa who was my server, but only 2 stars for everything else and that is pushing it a bit. The food was well below par in quality for the price they charge. Sadly cannot recommend this place except for the server which from my experience was the only saving grace for the establishment.

3 times in a row: we waited for over 1.5 hours to get our food.The older woman that answers the phone at night, is EXTREMELY RUDE “every” time I call. Im Done with this place. That lady that answers (try calling at night and you’ll see) needs to be fired! If she was my employee, she’d be FIRED immediately with this terrible personality. Terrible!!!!

Very cold! There was actually a space heater under the sink in the bathroom, a classic low budget alternative to actually running the heat. Salads were from a bag, some pieces were actually moldy. Mashed potatoes are instant. The Mac and cheese was a watery mess. The seafood Alfredo was complete slop. Odd floury bits adorned the sauce and whoever added the scallops didn't have the sense to remove the side beards! The pasta was cooked to absolute mush. We ordered the New York strip medium, definitely not! As a family of five we paid $109, this is ordering off the kid's menu! The burger for instance is 9.49 add cheese for another dollar and you have an extremely overpriced burger! Not coming back!!!

Have love this Restaurant for years but called to get a order pick up and the Lady on the phone was very rude. I wanted a chicken Cesar salad and and she was what kind of salad dressing would you like on that. I have ordered many Cesar Salads and I think this was the first time I was ask what dressing. But her telling me that I was making the order difficult is what really made my day SO SAD IT HAS BEEN SUCH A GOOD PLACE TO EAT.ps the food was great

My sister's beef tips were tough. My citris salmon had a good flavor but was overcooked. My brother enjoyed his ribs, although he said one end was tough. Service was great. Salad bar adequate.

Appetizers were good, 1st bartender not friendly/personable- fixed jack & coke along with cranberry & apple crown - VERY VERY strong (probably would have made 2 if not 3 drinks). We didn't have another drink but 2nd bartender, Janelle (I think) got us our ticket & cleaned up the area very well along with very personable.

I think this place does a good job. We were visiting the area recently and our host suggested we eat there on a Sunday afternoon. It was good, reasonably priced, and the wait staff was wonderful. It's a very casual place with a decent selection of items on the menu. They do have a bar as well.

Very disappointing. Misadvertisment of the Frequent Diner's Program. Went to cash in my points for 2019 but even though the Diner's Rewards were printed on the cash register receipt and on the website, those don't apply now. Supposedly the program changed a year ago. Only one 500 point value now. Frustrating that the members were not notified.

The food is amazing here! The steak was perfect and they serve their sweet potato fries with marshmallow crème - yummm! We were visiting the area for just a few days and ate here twice because the food and service was so good. The second time we went, the waitress had gone out of her way to gather information the visitors bureau would normally have to share with us since the bureau was closed. Sara and the team made this a must-stop if we are ever near the area.
